Outlook email client

Outlook is a prominent email client application developed by Microsoft, which offers its users numerous unique tools for email management. Users can easily configure their email account in Outlook and manage all the emails, contacts, tasks, events, and schedules in the application in an organized way. Outlook also allows configuring of multiple email accounts and managing all the data in separate accounts collectively under a single interface.

Being a desktop application installed in the computer, Outlook can also be used to compose emails even without an active internet connection. Such messages are saved in the Outlook database, and sent as soon as the internet connection is up. To simplify the emailing process, Outlook suggests a list of email addresses in the To field when you type a letter. This feature is quite helpful to save time, as it frees you from the hassle of entering the full email address of your contacts each time you write them a message. However, there are chances when Outlook may serve you with a wrong email address.

This usually happens if you have saved an email address that is misspelled or is not in use anymore. Though you can correct the wrongly entered details in your Outlook address book, it will still display the old information along with the new details while composing a message. To get over this issue, it is advised to remove the history list in the email client application prior to making any changes in the address book. The following set of instructions would guide you in the process.

Steps to follow

  • Launch Microsoft Outlook application on your computer and create a new email.
  • Enter the first letter of any of your contacts in the To field that you want to remove from the history list.
